Who we are
Tuscaloosa Writers and Illustrators Guild (TWIG) is an organization of approximately fifty prolific, involved, supportive authors and illustrators based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, but membership extends to all of West Alabama and surrounding counties.
Meetings & More
Meetings are held via Zoom every other Saturday morning. Myriad genres and age groups are represented and members are both published and non-published.
The Purpose
The goals of the Guild are to support writing excellence and to provide networking as well as information related to book publication, marketing, and other literary endeavors.
The Guild also actively seeks to nurture reading among all age levels through involvement in various community projects.
Our members have won many prestigious awards and signed locally, nationally, and internationally.
Our History
TWIG has met continuously for more than half a century, beginning as The Guild of Professional Writers for Children. The Guild voted in recent years to rename as members were writing for all age groups.
If you are interested in possible membership in our organization, please email us for more details.
Gratitude

Thank you! We so appreciate your support: reading our books; coming to our readings and signings; leaving reviews on platforms such as Amazon and Goodreads; sharing our news on social media; and recommending us to your family and friends. Although our stories originate within us, they are only truly complete when enjoyed by you.
TWIG also extends heartfelt gratitude to Barnes & Noble, Tuscaloosa; Ernest & Hadley Booksellers; the Tuscaloosa Public Library; the City of Tuscaloosa; The Noon Show (Catfish 100.1); Great Day Tuscaloosa; Dr. Don Noble; The Tuscaloosa News; and The Northport Gazette. We recognize the important role each plays in helping promote our works and our Guild. Additional thanks to Animis Global for their patient, professional creation and maintaining of our website.
