The Shepherd of Time is a book that has been transitioning from my mind, to my heart, to the completed story for 25 years. The main character, Daisy Forte, has been putting her childhood friend August on a pedestal since she was seven. Now she is a tenured college professor, but August has offered her a new career as a history and language specialist in his AI and communications corporation. She is intrigued by the financial aspects, the global travel, but mostly by the chance to reignite her friendship with August.
But little does she – or do the others recruited for his mission – realize that they will be traveling in time to the distant past. There, August hopes to change history in order to improve life globally for all – no wars, hatred, or destruction of the earth! But, as brilliant as August is, something is missing from his calculations. Everyone who travels is changed, but especially by traveling in time!
